Bruce, I visit only a few boards on Yahoo and can't conclude anything on that. The busiest board I scan is Zeev's on ihub and most there are traders who don't care either way. My impression is there are more shorts than in 2000 but fewer than in 2002/2003. It took them months to admit in mid-2003 that the market trend had changed to bullish.

Way more shorts now than in 2000 but perhaps less than a year ago. Might be just pissing against the wind syndrome just as longs did as naz dropped from 5100 to 1100. By the time the naz had gotten to 1100, the longs had largely capitulated. When than brks board goes positive, it will be time to sell the market. mike
