It was like every single cop was a member of the SWAT team, all equipped as you would expect an Army Ranger to be.

Heard a story from an American who had an insulated cooler stolen from his place. When he reported it to the police, they went to the village and simply beat people up until the cooler was produced.

That was a year before the revolution in Chiapas, I could understand why the peasants were a little ticked off.
