Yes Sir they did. When you get up to 500+ hp it don't take long and they don't do 30 in the curves either. One of the biggest costs to an engine in horses is being out of balance. If your pistons etc. were weight balanced you'd gain double the horses you have. Then 1,000 miles of normal driving that would be shot in the ass.
