Dave,

Just look at the archives. There are 100,000+ AMD related posts, that have a lot of history stored here, probably more than in any other thread on SI. The current political rant have little value a day after it is posted.

Why throw away a historical treasure in order to protect something with no historical value?

At minimum, please do nothing (that is restore the status quo). If something should be done, let these guys start their own new thread. Besides, this BBS is called "Silicon Investor". Shouldn't talk about semiconductors and investing be prized more highly?

Joe

Dave Re...That's what I would have done if there was even a hint that this was discussion about AMD.

Why not name the thread then American Mindless Deviates; and abbreviate it to AMD.

Maybe I miss it?

You have to understand the lament of the AMD people. They feel very territorial about this thread even though they abandoned it long ago for the moderated thread. I stuck with this thread because I don't believe in the need for moderation. Over time, this thread evolved into something else because there was no need for two AMD threads. If anyone 'owns' this thread and has a proprietary interest, its the people who post here consistently.

I think you've done it fine. If someone wants to check something out on this thread, they can always link to this site.

RE:<That's what I would have done if there was even a hint that this was discussion about AMD>

SI Admin Dave,

The freaking thead was named 'Advanced Micro Devices', what other hint did you need? I TOU'd about this renaming issue and emailed the admin email address several months ago and received no reply whatsoever. Those emails and TOU's should have been a hint. What happened to them? If you can rename a thread you can rename it back. Please do so.

In the meantime and until this thread is restored to it's previous name and placed back under 'semiconductors' instead of 'coffee shop' I am leaving SI. And you can forget about me ever subscribing to InvestorsHub.
