Gibson almost came to blows with Diane Sawyer over his whacko Dad's horrendous beliefs. It's interesting to see what people think of Gibson's movie. I think the most interesting characterization of it was a 2-hour snuff film...serious gratuitous violence and suffering which is apparently what Gibson thinks about a great deal. Morbid fascination I believe.

Gibson did say he was contemplating suicide when, apparently, the holy ghost or some such being came and spoke to him about making this movie..and apparently a ton of money that comes with it.

One commentator said that Gibson was clearly insane as he had based his movie on Caravaggio but Caravaggio does not depict Christ as so bloodied and flayed. Odd.

Someone also said that Gibson was showing depraved indifference by not caring what his film could be used for as "passion" plays have been used for in the past. Odd.

Why do these Hollywood types end up so often with the bizarre cults?

One theory is that they start off in bizarre behaviors and have to learn to act normal.
