You are entitled to your own opinion, but not your own facts. You have double counted the West Africa reserves. Nigerian oil is part of the Gulf of Guinea complex. So your 85 Bbbl reserve figure is no good.

And there is absolutely no reason for me to accept a one sentence comment in a BBC article from two years ago to tell me what the total Gulf of Guinea reserves might or might not be. I'll stick with industry or goverment statistics.

Furthermore, the BBC article was reporting a denial by the U.S. government about a Dept. of Defense interest in creating a deep water port for the U.S. Navy in San Tome. In fact, the negotaitions for that project are currently advancing.

I'm not impressed by your "facts".
