Doesnt Europe have value added consumption based taxes and little or no income taxes? If you take income out of the mix and tax consumption but not investment perhaps you are on to something. Mike

The US has the most skewed income distribution among industrialized countries,

And that is why we are the richest industrialized country. We don't chop off the "tall poppies" as much as the other's do.
