Yep, you are right. When I was young SS payments went into a SS TRUST fund JUST AS ALL OTHER PENSIONS ARE REQUIRED TO DO. But, the bastards found a way to comingle the funds AND NOW cry cause they spent all the money. I have absolutely NO SYMPATHY with that arguement. Far as I am concerned EVERY other govt program should come AHEAD of SS when it comes to CUTS since it was SUPPOSEDLY a SAFE insurance fund. jdn
