LOL ... nest eggs ... reminds me of a (wealthy) customer we had about 15 years ago that told my husband to buy and hold DTE Detroit Edison
We did, and still do own it
You'll like the dividend it pays ... somewhere in the 6 percent range
They have a great reinvestment plan that costs about 50 cents any time you add to it or take from it .
I think it has tripled for us in that time
It is still a great "investment" and I still contribute to it when it dips semi-annually
I couldn't even tell you what the current price is, as I so rarely check on it.
During the slump of the bear market it was one of the few that did not let me down
I don't mention investments here 'cause it's a trading thread ... but as you say ... we should all own and hold long some "Good Company's"
