bcb,
I know capitalist fundamentalists are freaked out by the thought they might be asked to pay a little more on their investment profits, but the reason investors capital gains have dramatically increased in past yr, is because American multi-national cos are making obscene profits by outsourcing millions of American jobs. It's not asking too much for those who have become wealthier by sending part of the country's assets elsewhere to pay a little more taxes on those profits. Capitalists are the greediest people on earth. They demand that nothing should prevent their accumulation of wealth no matter what means has been used to acquire those capital gains. There is such a thing as fairness & American investors who are benefitting from the outrageous unfair free trade rules should reinvest some of their profits back into the country that helped them make those capital gains in the first place.

What's wrong with raising taxes on the rich with a 1.5 trillion deficit thanks to Bush rewarding the rich and spending way too much? Are you a defender of fat cats to the detriment of working class people and the environment? If so, you'll preside over a landslide defeat of Bush-cheney, the ultimate defenders of the upper class misers.
