Ah, but it always does. In every war, in every country, it's always the same. This is a very consistent historical pattern, which I find overwhelming evidence for, in the history of my own country, and every other nation I've studied.

If you insist the nation speak with One Voice, then the practical result, the inevitable and consistent result, the result that happens in every war America has ever fought, is that those who disagree with a President when he wants to go to war, have nasty labels attached to them, and then the government does nasty things to them, to silence them.

Your distinction between "allowable" and "unallowable" dissent is always swept away by the flag-waving mobs.
