Your tube is being confiscated in the interests of national security! Maybe if you can't get glued to it, these things will stop happening!

stayed glued to the tube for a very long time--days!
JFK was assassinated on a Friday; Ruby shot Oswald on Sunday. I missed that (or maybe I missed nothing I needed to see?) because we were on a long previously scheduled car trip. But I think the whole nation was mostly glued to the the tube for several days.

Cuban missile crisis was like that too. Is there going to be nuclear war? Not?

WTC: I was a at work by the time the 2nd plane hit. not that much work was getting done.

5) I was on the 6th story of a 6-story building when Loma Prieta rocked and rolled. QUITE a ride! The building was built to be quake resistant and swayed like ****! Never forget it. I think the quake was something like 35 seconds; felt like hours.

Sadly, I'm still glued to the tube. What's gonna be the next horror I witness? I only wish I was in charge of the world--so that these things couldn't happen.
What are you, a nutty optimist?

PS: Oh, I forgot--this is a smoking thread. Put me down for a daily pack of Chesterfield Kings,
You smoke on this thread, you're toast! This thread is a secret plot to get Hollander to quit!

If I works, it goes on my curriculum vitae for St. Peter: "Got Hollander to quit polluting her lungs".

Of course, I guess the effect depends on St. Pete's opinion of her, doesn't it? :-)
