If you are a student of military history

How many times a day do you tell yourself that you are a student of military history?

The only historical viewpoint I see in your posts would be the one Chomsky/Pravda/Al Jazeera share... And you seem to have missed a number of the most recent chapters.

Vietnam defeatism - get over it.

What bias against France? France is no longer our ally because we no longer have a perceived common enemy. Chirac and French elite opinion does not view the Mideast situation (current bone of contention) as the Bush administration does, and the Bush administration doesn't care. When geopolitical realities change, a country's foreign policy and alliances had better change too.

As for China, if population alone were sufficient, it would have been a Great Power for centuries, and would never, for instance, have suffered the Japanese invasion in the 1930's.

The more I talk to guys like you, the more I am befuddled by the strong bias against France.... Can you please tick off your bitches against the French who have been our ally for a century or more....
If you are a student of military history

I luv talking to students of military history. I am trying to learn a bit about it myself.

In the past century, the French have been our great ally twice...Both times the Germans were sitting in Paris drinking cognac by day and sleeping with French wives and sweethearts by night.

The bias began when the French stood against us in Vietnam...That of course was after they got their ass kicked at Dien Bien Phu in 54.

The bias was exacerbated in 1965 when the French kicked NATO HQ out of Paris and France. Now that was a real "ally" thing to do.

If you haven't got this far in your study yet...there is a little bit to learn about how much support our wonderful French allies gave us after we were attacked 9/11...It will make a one-word phrase in a history book. NONE

I have some old French rifles for sale. They were made by Remington in 1917 for the French to use in WWI...I guarantee they have never been fired and have only been dropped twice.
Once in WWI
And once in WWII.
