A huge percentage of political commentary on SI consists of people ignoring, whitewashing or outright lying about bad things done by one group while they demonize another group for both real and imagined (i.e. made up and lied about) actions.

Funny how we would never let scientists or engineers work on products that way (the results would be dangerous or lethal to users), but it is considered perfectly acceptable in "political debate" if the poster finds it emotionally gratifying.

Very little interesting or useful objective political analysis ever happens chat boards or hate-talk radio shows, in my experience. Just lots of bandwidth wasted with diatribes that a PolSci 101 professor would slap a D- on in a flash.
