Ted, Because the evidence is inadequate. It doesn't need to be. The burden of proof is on his accusers, not on Bush. So I ask again, why is the burden of proof on Bush? Numberous guys in his unit have been questioned and do not remember him. Think about it..........there were hundreds of guys in these guard units and not one remembers serving with the president of the US. I can hardly remember whether my best friend back in high school showed up to school everyday. Does that mean my best friend skipped school? No, it just means I can't remember. Just because someone doesn't remember Bush being at his post doesn't mean Bush wasn't there. It just means that guy can't remember. Tenchusatsu

Ted Re...Because the evidence is inadequate. There was at least a 5 month gap in the info provided by the WH. With all the resources at their disposal and with all the time that this has been an issue, don't you think they should have done better than that if, in fact, its true what Bush has said? Just why is it GW's fault if the evidence is inadequate. The natl. guard kept the records, not GW or the white house. Secondly, AWOL is a specific charge, and there was no evidence, of even an inquiry into it, much less a court martial. You could say Gw should have been declared AWOL, and court marshaled, however, to say he was is another story.
