Ted Re...Because the evidence is inadequate. There was at least a 5 month gap in the info provided by the WH. With all the resources at their disposal and with all the time that this has been an issue, don't you think they should have done better than that if, in fact, its true what Bush has said?

Just why is it GW's fault if the evidence is inadequate. The natl. guard kept the records, not GW or the white house.


Good point! And on Bush's NG records there is a span of time where they are blank......5 months to be exact. Why is it blank? Had he been in attendance, it should have been completed.

Secondly, AWOL is a specific charge, and there was no evidence, of even an inquiry into it, much less a court martial. You could say Gw should have been declared AWOL, and court marshaled, however, to say he was is another story.

If he was absent for an extended period of time, and it sure looks like he was, why wasn't he declared AWOL? Did daddy take care of that issue as well?
