I miss Edwards on the campaign trail. Naturally, I've missed Dean as well.

The students I know about and who have done well after high school have had tremendous
personal and emotional support from their parents. For instance, a woman in my class last fall took the
course so that she could help her children. Like some other parents, she tutors her children.
Kids from working class or poor families may not be so lucky. Since their parents work,
it's likely parents won't have as much time to help their kids with homework.. Unfortunately,
it's also possible parents may not have the education to help their kids. I believe
we tend to think that kids have an equal advantage in the public education system. From what
I've seen, public education is now focused on student tests and not the inequality that exists
there.

I don't have kids though so I realize my opinion is narrow and it may not be accurate.
