You're right Christopher was the first Secretary of State for Clinton. But he wasn't in office when any of that OBL stuff happened, was he? And Berger denies everything about the Sudanese rumor. read this.

"The Sudanese never offered to give him to the United States," Berger insisted. "This is something I've gone back to check very carefully on. There's no - there's no - no one knows of any such offer."

Berger suggested instead that the Sudanese had fabricated the story of bin Laden's possible extradition to the U.S. to stay on the Bush administration's good side after the 9/11 attacks.

* This is what I'm talking about. Berger went on TV to deny there was ever such an offer. So either he's a bald-faced liar like Cheney, Rumsfeld, Bush and Rice on Saddam (possible) or he's telling the truth. Almost all the stories I found about the Sudanese rumor were on rightwing websites promoting the rumor as truth in an effort to slime Clinton and promote Bush. I tend not to believe any rightwing websites sinc they lie so often. Look at Drudge after all. Five big lies in a row about Kerry. None of it true at all. I'll believe it when the mainstream press corroborates it.

BTW: I never said Clinton couldn't have been tougher on OBL. 300 cruise missiles were not enough. I'm sure Clinton regrets it himself. Even though Afhanistan is lanlocked and impossible to it by aircraft except over Pakistani air space, he should have done something. But 9-11 happened on Bush's watch, not clinton's, so Bush is responsible for 9-11. Bush was warned on 8-6 and did nothing. Bush never even mentioned terrorism until after 9-11. He was only obsessed about the useless SDI system.
