Right, class warfare will occur if the unemployment rate gets to a certain point 25+%? and the unemployed are treated poorly. It could happen with Bush and IMHO is less likely with Kerry. Not that I think the Kerry team is going to create more jobs than the Bush team, but I would expect them to treat the unemployed better. Hopefully, unemployment won't get to that critical level, but that is probably wishful thinking.

Was that just a rhetorical excess, or is this really the case with
the new bankruptcy laws?

Btw, if Kerry loses to Bush, it might be the best thing that
ever happened to him (Kerry, that is). The next few years will
be tough and whoever is in office will get the blame. Perhaps
a no-win situation, no matter what the politics.
