WSJ has been running both pro & con on Patriot Act. These laws were passed in haste to deal with novel threats and fix government and jurisdictional issues which had not been addressed for years. It was also a way compensating for incompetence of various agencies. This needs to be carefully reviewed, modified and replaced, and at the same time add bright line limits to preserve privacy for US citizens. A job for the next Congress, to be done with care and deliberation.
