I think we agree about Clinton. I had trouble justifying impeachment for what he did also. Yeah, I know he committed perjury; he was being asked to potentially end his marriage and family life if he didn't.

That's what brought him down. That is unacceptable. You CANNOT let a known case of an abuse of power like that simply slide by. If you do, the next guy figures, well, they didn't nail him, so I can do it too. And maybe goes further. And I 've heard of the "slippery slope" fallacy, yes. But you tread dangerous ground here. If we are to keep a democracy, the President must know he is a President, not a dictator, and he is not above the law.
