First of all, I have to remind you that there are members on this thread who consider themselves instant experts on the Moslem Jihadist issue. Their only source of information is the news media and they derive their inspiration from government propaganda shit. Any viewpoints that run counter to the "official" line is bullshit, garbage, inanity and downright ignorance and stupidity. Happily, I am not one of them. So, to seek the answers you want, you will do well to ask them. -------------------- Regarding your idea of terrorizing the Moslem Jihadists by "contaminating" their dead bodies with all sorts of pig stuff (skin, entrails and whatnot) to preclude from entering their Paradise and enjoying virgins, I would like to point out that this idea has been bandied about and discussed at length on the Gold Price Monitor between the end of September and December 2001. There was even a suggestion to rain molten lard on the Moslem fighters in Afghanistan from big US supply planes. Another idea was to dump live pigs on them. In the end, the discussion simply evaporated into nothing conclusive. However, did that tactic ever succeed? Yes, way back in the late 1890s, when the Philippines were a colony of the US and a group of Moslem rebels were captured near Mindanao. The Americans shot and killed the rebel leader and all of his men except for a couple of them. Then they cut the rebel leader up, dumped pig entrails into his chest cavity and smeared him and his dead comrades with pig blood and fat. The rebel leader was wrapped in pigskin, his comrades were each covered with a piece of pigskin and they were buried at sundown, a circumstance which is a no-no for superstitious folks. The prisoners that were spared were forced to watch the entire episode and then released to tell others what happened. Since then, Jihadist (extremist) clerics have been telling their fighters that, by virtue of their noble and dignified cause, they were immune to any and all pigstuff and/or related treatments. Of course, the mindless Moslem terrorists swallowed all this hokey hook-line-and-sinker! So the Coalition forces knew that the contamination-and- consequent-exclusion-from-Paradise tactic would be ineffective. Is it any wonder why we heard nothing about that tactic being used in Afghanistan and elsewhere? IMMHO, the tactic of using pigstuff is kinda silly and, on a large scale, impractical. Far too many pigs would be required and soon there wiould be a shortage of pigs and pork. Furthermore, the comandeering of pigs for anti-Jihadist purposes would rob pork-loving folks like me of a delicious source of food! and lots of folks will be sure to protest big time. Also, the SPCA would raise one heckuva stink. Enough said. Do not be fooled into thinking that Moslems practise only what is in the Qu'ran. For example, the Sharia was a later addition of non-Qu'ranic origin. Also, if a charismatic Mullah opens his big mouth about something or other, his followers will blindly accept what he says as the truth. Let me give you an example. The Aga Khan, some time way back in the 1950s was in his hotel penthouse drinking champagne whilst receiving some of his followers from Pakistan. They criticized him for imbibing alcohol which is a no-no in Islam. The Aga Khan simply told them, "Jesus turned water into wine. But my lips and mouth turn alcohol into water!!!" Believe it or not: His followers were satisfied with his answer. Go figure. Simple-minded Moslem folks generally obey their leaders unquestioningly. This fact was exploited by the Coalition big time in Afghanistan. The warlords were bribed so that their fighters only offered token resistance. And lo and behold: the Coalition forces overran Afghanistan in record time, a fact that was bemoaned by Osama. Bribery, more than superior firepower, was a potent weapon in Afghanistan! I would not presume to teach others how to suck eggs regarding solving the Jihadists' scourge and ongoing threats. One thing is certain, however: just as war begins in the minds of men, it is in the minds of men that the seeds of peace must be shown. For sure, this requires education and it is going to be a very time-consuming process. However, I do believe that, just as Christianity has taken 20 centuries to evolve into its present benign form, so will Islam need time to evolve into, hopefully, a benign form that will expand/enlighten the consciousness of its adherents. Pertinent questions to ask now are, "How much time will it take?" and "Will Islam ever evolve from here?" Well, I don't pretend to know all the answers. I leave that to guys who consider themselves infinitely smarter than me by virtue of their information from the media and inspiration from government propaganda shit!!! I am sure you will find their answers enlightening and entertaining.

Sorry, I wasn't attentive enough yesterday. That was because I had an unusually busy day. Holding their parents responsible for their son's terrorist actions won't work. You seem to be comparing fanatic Moslem parents with caring and overly doting Western parents! Mind you, you can't compare lemons with pears, or grapefruit with apples! BTW, were you a schoolteacher? You sounded very much like you are one. BTW, do you know that a Moslem who enters Paradise (apart from the 70 virgins deal) can also pull into Paradise at least 10 of his/her relatives by having their sins "waived" off at his request? No wonder the parents of Jihadist Moslems are not that concerned. For them there is not only a monetary payoff but also a guarantee of Paradise. The answer to the problem is education and the concomitant evolution of Moslem societies. "Not by revolution but by EVOLUTION are all things achieved in permanence." Of course, this goes against the grain of impatient and concerned folks who for the most part forget that they themselves had to undergo (or had undergone) evolution over a relatively long period of time.

A friend of mine in California wrote me the following which I am posting here as he has no posting privileges on SI:- To combat terrorism, we must 1. Know the reasons and cause of terrorism. 2. We must know who the terrorists are. 3. We must know their military capabilities. Most Americans think all Arabs are terrorists, that Saddam Hussein is the same as Ben Laden, that we can occupy Arab and Moslem countries and dominate and subjugate them wihout any danger, and that they are candidates for American type democracy! Not only are we self-deceived, but we allow and continue and encourage the government to deceive us. Four world powers, Babylon, Greece, Persia and Rome in ancient times collapsed because they got inflated in their powers and deceived their own people to their utter destruction. If the government is successfull in deceiving its own people, the next thing and which is frightening is it will encroach into their civil rights and personal freedom under the excuse of security and oppress all opposition by all means, even by changing the constitution! The most dangerous is to sacrifice the children of your own country under false pretenses, and pre-empt an unnecessary war ! Not only have the Republican governments deceived us ( Nixon etc), so has the Democrats.
