Kerry hardly knew Jane Fonda. Just a big dirty trick distortion the rightwing made up. They at one point spoke at the same event together but did not work together. Kerry was not into radical politics or street revolutions, he was always into working within the system. He quit the VVAW because they were too leftwing for his tastes. The rightwing even doctored a photo showing Kerry and Fonda together. Turns out Fonda wasn't even at that event. Fonda herself admits she hardly knew Kerry, can't even remember ever shaking his hand. Also Fonda didn't go to Hanoi until two years later after Kerry and Fonda spoke at an event. Kery condemned that trip to Hanoi. Kerry is in no way responsible for Fonda's actions. But the rightwing should be more responsible about putting out phony charges like this. The main guy behind it is a known conman and fraud who calls McCain a "traitor". Really wacky far-right conman.
