Agreed. I would get behind any candidate who showed me integrity, character, quality of thought, ability to inspire, and awareness of learning from history. I could add in a few more, but those will do.

Oh. And when they say "read my lips" they had better mean it!

Adlai Stevenson had all those except the ability to inspire. Very bright, damn fine man, nobody cared. Clinton had none except the ability to inspire. No integrity, no character (at least no good character), but for some reason he got people believing in him. Put together Stevenson's mind and philosophy with Clinton's charisma, and you've got somebody I could really support.

Bush ain't it.
Kerry ain't it.
Nadar ain't it.
