By the way, whatever happened to the investigations into shorting of stocks at the time of 9/11? That subject seems to have have disappeared. Anyone know of anything new on this?

Everything in California is a democratic controlled district.

Its funny that everybody says that but it really has only been true recently. Remember California is "reagan country". And silicon valley was really just the military and space program tech hub 30 years ago, not exactly the granola crowd. Of course SF was always nutty. Its kind of a nice mix of business and nutty.

Californians used to laugh at Oregonians and their "no growth" initiatives. We thought Oregon and WA had the real liberals vs. us down here. All this changed in 92 when the republicans completely embraced the social liberal stance as the key party platform. That was the end of conservatism in a lot of the west. Abortion restrictions for example will never fly here, never. And creationism in schools, absolutely not.
