We created a war that the UN tried to stop. The UN is not an assembly of magicians, able to pull legitimacy out of a hat. The UN did not invade Iraq -- we did and there was no legitimacy. The UN is not occupying Iraq -- we are and there is no legitimacy. The UN is not overseeing the political process -- we are and there is no legitimacy. And you expect the UN to be able to bless this rape and call it a legal marriage based on love and respect. The UN cannot do that. The UN provides a slim possibility of injecting some legitimacy into this mess -- that is why they were targeted. Our enemies do not want us to have any legitimacy -- Bush, Cheney and Rumsfeld have been very helpful to our enemies.
