Dominick, check out Synergy:

I use it so that I can control the keyboard and mouse of my notebook with my main computer's keyboard and mouse. It should be even better on 2 (or more) desktop machines.

There is a little glitch with the notebook, in that I sometimes have to kill and restart the client on the notebook after the notebook goes into standby.

The other little glitch is that you lose mouse responsiveness for a short time (typically less than a second) when you start a program on a client. It's a little annoying, but not so bad once you get used to it.

This is SO much better than using a KVM or multiple keyboards/mice. It is just like having a multi-monitor system, only on multiple computers. (It does work with multiple multi-monitor systems.)
