Europeans must come to terms with the threat. They have large muslim populations to boot. They will be far less PC than we when they finally take decisive action. Scarves will be the least of it. Remember there is no spain as such--there is the EU and the hoped for USofE. Preemption will be less of a diry word, going forward, i predict. And some of that preemption will be internal in nature. We have been lucky so far and islamist penetration here has been minimal--not so europe as i understand it. mike

This will enable some real detective work to take place.

From your link: <<In his address, Mr Aznar urged Spaniards to take to streets in protest at the attacks on their capital - and some have already heeded this call....

He added: "The criminals who have caused so many deaths today will be arrested... We will succeed in finishing off the terrorist band."

Note the law enforcement paradigm.

Yes absolutely. Nothing like an unexploded bomb for a forensic goldmine.

Doesn't sound like A-Team work does it? Clearly, all the bombs were supposed to go off at once. They were trying to kill thousands.
