P.S. We've been sidetracked into talking about owlyers, the more important part of the "war on terrorism" is the police (and FBI, CIA, etc.) The primary purpose of the police is not to protect the citizenry from criminals or terrorists, their purpose is to punish those who disobey the laws. Huh? ...Then why do we need cops/FBI/CIA at all? These terrorists tend to take care of their own "punishment." I know you aren't suggesting we just do nothing and trust they they will run out of human bombs. There wouldn't be enough charisma in the known universe for an elected official to sell that one to the old constituency. I must be missing something. If we take the cops/FBI/CIA out of the picture that brings us back to negotiations and cutting Israel lose. If so I am all for discussing it as I think folks ought to know their choices. But if we go down that road I see Israel taking an approach equivalent to Iran's. But of course they already have a bomb so their first step as soon as they find out they are being "cut lose" will be to use some sort of preemptive attack on Iran to stop their bomb program and I assume this will require much more than a one day air raid and/or assassination team. That in turn will produce some repercussions. I suspect one of those repercussions will be a continued terror attack against us since any Arab will tell you we gave Israel the bomb. We could of course try to defend such attacks by protecting Iran from Israel. ...That would be a good trick. No this situation is much like the Civil War IMHO. The Deadly Dichotomy simply can't be denied this time. Hopefully it can be delayed. ...Well I suppose that's not so good for the people who get blown up in the meantime. Lordy, I guess it just has to come in it's own time whenever that is. 0\|0
