The key is leadership to get us out of this economic and political death spiral, and it's not there on the R/D side. Sad but true. Part of the reason given for Cheney's secret meeting with the oil companies, was so that the oil companies could speak freely, without fear of either side demagogueing the issue. How do you know? Did someone tell you? You know what 'assuming' does............

Frankly, I think the key reason was so that Cheney could brief them on how they were going to take Iraq and exploit the oil fields. But I'm pretty cynical. John
