Right off the top of my head, I can see a couple of flaws in that analysis.

Both NY and NJ were "blue" states in the 2000 election, i.e., they went for Gore, not Bush. I have no idea whether Howard Stern had any influence on those voters, but I'd doubt it. Those states are likely to go to Kerry in any event, so Stern's influence there is unlikely to have any effect on the outcome of the election.

As you note, Howard Stern's "loyal listeners" aren't all that conservative to begin with. To have any impact, he'd have to influence the independent voters in states like Florida, Ohio and Texas. Unlikely to happen IMO.

I'd also have to say, Howard Stern has about zero influence in states like Kansas, Nebraska, Arizona, and the Carolinas. Can you say f-r-i-n-g-e?
