its common knowledge california was screwed by Enron and Bush, at worst Bush knew about the corruption and did nothing, at best he found out after the fact and did nothing.

What is your point here, to come on and make excuses for the worst president of all time, Dubya Bush? This is the Kerry thread. Not many here are interested in any more excuses for the dismal failure that is Bush.

California: What are Bush's prospects in the state? Zip, zero, nada: No way after 24/7 war he and his oil cronies waged on us

On that first trip to California as president in May of 2001, former oilman Bush wagged his finger and warned us of the evils of energy price controls - even while his cronies and campaign bankrollers at Enron and other Texas-based energy companies were, as we now know, robbing us blind.

We still have extracted only a pittance in refunds - courtesy of the industry-friendly, Bush-controlled Federal Energy Regulatory Commission - from those piratical energy companies that manipulated electricity prices and made a killing off of us.

Vice President Cheney has already admitted that he and Enron CEO Ken Lay discussed the California situation in some of their six meetings last year, leading some critics to believe that Bush's hands-off policy toward California was done at Enron's bidding.

Wanna stick up for Texas energy crooks go ahead. But everyone knows Enron and Bush-Cheney were very close, and together they told many whopper lies during that so-called "crisis". Clearly the fix was in and the tens of billions they stole went into friendly hands and pockets. It doesn't take a genius to put two and two together and figure out what happened and why. One only has to look at the Ed Gillespie connection to realize Bush wouldn't be rewarding Gilespie with the top jopb at the RNC unless he approved of the way the energy gougings were orchetrsted. It was ruthless, criminal but almost a perfect crime because all the witnesses were in on it.
