It is hard to fight terrorism without the co-operation of friendly nations. US had a lot of goodwill and sympathy post 9/11. The mindless misadventure in Iraq has blown all that to pieces.

Ann,

I'm afraid I must correct you. The Spanish pre WWII were in no position to oppose Hitler. Many already had, and they lost. Pre WWII, the Spanish were ruled by a Fascist Dictator.
