I was talking about the kids I teach, who are in high school. I don't think I've spoken to anyone from my high school class since high school. I also have no desire to see the folks I went to high school with- my life is full, and I don't have anything in common with the folks I went to high school with, except that we attended the same high school- and that is not much to have in common, imo. I might as well have reunions with the folks who shop at my supermarket. I wasn't even in high school that much- since I attended college classes my senior year in the afternoons. I'm sure people who were in to the social whirl in high school have a lot more reason to get together- and I hope they enjoy themselves.

I hope you enjoy yourself also.

Holly, my high school class of '61 had its first and only reunion 30 years later. It was held in the small hometown and more than 60% of the surviving folks of our class of 110, along with several teachers, attended. I did much of the organizing work, including the letter writing, so afterward received many notes of sincere thanks for the wonderful weekend that it was. Many of us had gone thru the entire 12 years of public school together, so the reunion was a revisiting of our formative years, and a very memorable experience it was. An oddity that I observed was that while most of us came from distant locations, there were a few locals who showed no interest in attending.

Class reunions. Every other Saturday I work on a nature restoration project and last Saturday a new guy showed up that looked somehow familiar. They introduced him as a retired teacher from Lincoln College.

As we were waiting to get our poison tanks filled so we could murder invasive, non native and crowds out the good stuff, mustard garlic plants I mentioned I had gone to Lincoln College. He says yes Ish, I was your biology 101 teacher. So I sayz if you remembered me for 37 years I must have been your best student. He said no, just my most memorable student. I used you as a bad example until I quit. See! I set an example!!
