The problem may be that people eat bad fats. If you eat healthy fats, such as organic grass fed beef or wild game which has a very healthy fatty acid profile (compared to most of the beef you get in the stores which was fed on grains and meat [thus mad cow], which is not a cow's natural diet, leading to an unhealthy fatty acid profile that is not what our stone age ancestors ate), or organic eggs and even raw cheeses which have mor enzymes, if you don't drink homogenized milk which is really bad for your heart, if you eat raw nuts not roasted in which oils become rancid (cooked), and if you still add in healthy carbs that are from vegetables, and complex carbs, that is a very healthy diet. Maybe one problem is people just eat a lot of fast-food type protein/fats that are not healthy. IMO anyway. I sometimes order raw goat's milk shipped in from Pennsylvania where the organic farmer has a herd of 50 goats. I have never tasted anything so delicious in my entire life, and it feels like the milk is bursting with sunshine. Hard to describe. But when you pasteurize milk epecially at very high temps you destroy all its life giving enzymes, degrade many of its immunoglobulins etc...and when you homogenize cow's milk you actually create little molecules that are bad for the cardiovascular system...raw milk is not like regular milk in a quart at all (and not "goat-y" because if you keep the female away from the male, her milk remains sweet tasting, now what does that say about men, I don't know?!!!). So one has to understand that the closer foods are to the way nature made them, the healthier. If I didn't live in the city I'd have my own veggie garden.

abstract, one of those things that I couldn't quite put my hand on was the heart health. That was an issue with me. I sensed something going on there, but we couldn't detect anything. I've been heavily involved in aerobic exercise for well over 25 years and the ticker tests well.

My cholesterol is horribly high in both LDL and HDL, so one offsets the other. This was an area that I didn't monitor, so I can't help you there.

abstract! If you are looking into diets you might want to check this one out. I lost 20 lbs. in 8 weeks and never felt better.......go back and forth on it now and then not to lose weight but to feel good. It is the 40/30/30 Fat Burning Nutrition book by Joyce and Gene Daoust.

Have met several folks that have lost upwards of 100 over a period of a year and feel great and would never get off of it.

This is the same idea as The Sears book "The Zone" but the Daoust have made it easy to deal with. Sorta a life style change.....

Eating the right balance of carbohydrates, protein, and fat creates a hormonal response that leads to burning stored fat for energy, claim nutritionists Joyce and Gene Daoust. This book explains how the 40-30-30 diet works (40 percent high fiber, mostly low-glycemic carbohydrate; 30 percent high-quality protein; 30 percent fat), and how to plan meals following this formula. The "Sample Starter Meal Planners" are organized into three meal categories: Regular, Fat-Flush, and Vegetarian (heavy on cheese, eggs, tofu, and tempeh). By the way on this diet They list fast foods that are 40/30/30 balanced such as Wendy's Chili, Wendy's chicken sandwich or you can have a steak, salad, potato and green beans for dinner.. How about apple, boiled egg and toast for breakfast......Lunch...Taco Soup etc...
