<"Patriotism" is a way of feeling one's stake in the progress of one's country.> Unfortunately, the word "patriot" has been co-opted and perverted by the militarists. The dictionary says it means "love of country". But those who habitually advocate solving problems by killing, use the word to mean "hatred of foreigners." The litmus test for being a "patriot", is supporting every proposal, for Americans to go overseas and kill non-Americans. By the militarist's definition, I am not a patriot. But, by the dictionary definition, I am.
