Pete Wilson was the GOv when that energy bill was passed here in Ca. The Bill was passed by a unanimous vote in the State legislature.

There were plenty of power plants in the process of coming on line and many did during the so-called crisis.

Refineries? Here in Ca our gasoline isn't processed in the refineries located here. It's made elsewhere and imported. If our refineries are shutting down it will affect other states.

BY the way, the energy "crisis" didn't have anything to do with refineries. And it disappeared with the Republican majority in the Senate.

There was no real energy shortage, it was all a scam.
At least most of it was. The proof is twofold; number one, Enron's admitted phamtom trades and conspiratorial bottlenecks with the other energy gang companies. Creating intentional shortages and eliminating all competition through 100% energy biz collusion. Number two the fact that there was a sudden energy GLUT the day after Jeffords switched parties giving Dems subpoena powers to investigate. This administration and its energy gang partners have deliberately been gouging since day 1. The oly time they stopped was while the DEms held the senate and could appoint a special prosecutor. Wake up, bearbob, even Bushies should detest this massive ripoff of the American economy and consumers.
