i would say a price war between intel and amd could not be worse news for folks who have a "competing" chip....and the market share numbers are bearing this out...

Actually all of technology is in a mad race to the bottom, which is the main problem with the naz imho. Of course there are other macro problems like the dollar and oil.

I was thinking the problem with pricing for all tech (chips software etc) was due to capex disappearing and moving to India. This might be true but it doesn't look like a situation that will be remedied. For whatever reason US businesses are not buying expensive technology anymore, from anybody. HP, Dell and Intel are entering consumer electronics- thin margin, highly competitive businesses.

Fwiw Jim Cramer thinks the two top growth stocks are JNPR and BRCM. Maybe there is pricing power in those areas. Not much anywhere else though.
