A bunch of people believe The Protocols of the Elders of Zion, too. Taking the pulse of the propagandized masses is not a reliable indicator of how we are doing as a nation. No one brushed the UN aside as irrelevant. We preferred a vote by the Security Council. However, France announced that it would veto an affirmative vote, and therefore we didn't bother. We have always left if a country did not want to renew basing rights. We are in all of these countries by invitation, as part of a treaty commitment, mainly for their defense. We generally abide by international treaties. We do, however, reserve the right to act in the national interest. Someone is generally the preeminent power. For the time being, we are. Oh dear, is the president a supporter of democratization? What a sumbitch! And he invokes God, and asks for His blessing! If that makes you a "crusader", we should indict Abraham Lincoln, George Washington, and most other presidents. "Wormed" their way into positions of power? These are all veterans of other Administrations well qualified for their positions. And, whether you can accept things or not, they do not see 9/11 as a "pretext", they see all of it as a piece. Whew, got through that without using the phrase "flatulating butthead".....ooooops!
