The claim that "Kubrick was approached for a hoax shot" was not a conjecture but the authors' own intended invention as part of the plot to draw you in. It is not impossible, but it isn't true either. What verges on the surreal is that you perpetuate the myth instead of confessing to having been hoaxed. All of which serves as an example of how urban legends get so entrenched. You appear to have a healthy sense of skepticism , which you had just demonstrated with powerful effect on this thread. And yet the occasional conspiracy vortex can still appear out of thin air and suck in even the wary!
