Raptech,

My experience this week was a polar opposite to yours. I called Monday about 4:30 and got a guy in Texas who knew what he was talking about. I was looking for a cheap home machine and knew the stuff I wanted in a Dimension 4600. He took the order, than offered me a free 120 gig HD upgrade and a free cd upgrade. Add the processor upgrade to 3.06, memory upgrade to 512, free shipping and a $100 rebate and I got quite a beast for about $830. No speakers but the ones I got with my original Dell in '95 sound great. B.B. King and Eric Clapton singing the blues, oh yeah!!! It shipped Tuesday afternoon and arrived here Thursday afternoon. So far everything works great. It does make me wonder how they can make any profit on this machine but experience tells me Dell does not do things they cannot profit from.

Disclaimer; I still hold some Dell shares.

Dear Raptech,

Has DELL got back to you yet?

You are exactly the kind of customer they need to keep! It worries me as a DELL holder to read these kinds of stories. DELL can't afford to let opportunities like your intended purchase slip by. As to that manager, who was too busy with meetings to get back to you, he has forgotten what DELL's business is based on - selling computers and providing added value to valued clients.
