Oh...so if I just have a vote to kill a congressman, and get outvoted, it is not a plot to kill? Kerry was there, he heard of it, he said nothing....a man that wants to be President....said NOTHING about a vote on killing some congressmen...

BTW, the "asshole" you are talking about that brought the idea in 71? might work for Kerry now.

I'm sure we disagree about the coming election, but I agree that holding Kerry "guilty" by association because he attended (or may have attended) a meeting where somebody proposed doing something rash and foolish and illegal is ridiculous.

I can recall many meetings I have attended where people proposed end running various laws or outright breaking them and hoping not to get caught. There is really no way to predict when someone is going to propose something silly like that. The real test of the person is how he reacts, what he does in response to the ridiculous proposal. As President, he may face ridiculous or simply misguided recommendations, and he needs to be able to see through those recommendations and make the correct decisions.

While I doubt I would choose to put Kerry in that position, this meeting where some people made foolish proposals which were voted down (and which nobody is saying he supported) tells me nothing meaningful (or certainly nothing negative) about the man's character.
