"Frankly, I find it outrageous that the president is running for re-election on the grounds that he's done such great things about terrorism," Clarke told CBS. "He ignored it. He ignored terrorism for months, when maybe we could have done something."

Hmmmmmmmm...

Apparently it wasn't "outrageous" enough to forego getting that 30 year pension socked away and the book to the printers before sharing his "outrageous" news.

It seems it lacked sufficient force to merit a word to former Senator Rudman or Senator Bird in the summer of 2003 when they were considering the need for Homeland expenditures.

Just last month, former Senator Warren Rudman chaired a task force at the Council on Foreign Relations that examined investments in police, fire, and emergency medical teams. This blue ribbon panel included Nobel laureates, U.S. military leaders, former high-level government officials, and other senior experts, and was advised by former White House terrorism and cyber-security chief Richard Clarke. The results of their examination should shake this Congress from its homeland security slumber.

Nor to anyone in Congress before it granted authorization
for military action; and certainly not before the 3rd Inf Div was shipped out.

At least we know where Mr. Clarke places the value of democracy... relative to his bank account anyway. <Hoo><sigh><Hoo>

What was Clarke doing for the two years BEFORE 9-11???

Suely he must have been aware of the drone plane/tapes in 2000 (and before?) that allege to show OBL and where he was? You know, the very same secret CIA tapes that Arkin got SOMEHOW and gave to NBC, which they and CNN screened this last week. The CIA is now investigating how these tapes came to be in Arkin's and NBC's "hands."

OR was Clarke writing his book???? Don't forget, Bush was in office less than 7 1/2 months before 9-11 happened. And they did have a China holding our plane incident in April of that year as well.

Perhaps Bush should have used the "plans" the previous Administration made to get rid of both Al Qaeda, and Saddam.
Or are you saying that even with what Clinton, and Clark, and Albright, etc knew, they didn't have any plans?
