I've tried to pay attention to what Sistani wants as I know he has a following. And what he wants is elections before the US hands over power to an appointed Iraqi govt in June. He is worried about the Baathists or some other Sunni Arab minority group somehow getting power if the US hands over sovereignity so a government before elections are held.

I don't blame him for being worried given Iraq's history of Sunni domination. But I think he's been placated. And the UN has been useful in that regard as it agreed with the US position that there isn't enough time for elections to be held prior to the end of the US/Brtish occupation. Elections will be held not too long after the end of the occupation - either late in 04 or early in 05.

raq is a sitting duck for the Al Qaeda to launch a massive onslaught against the US and very likely will influence the US elections. So Bush better start to think how he is going to contain Iraq. The foreign leaders will force his hands. So it is stupid for him to insist that Kerry disclose the names. Kerry's was a very general statement.

Your psot seems to be very disconnected from one another. Sistani - Spanairds - Iraqis - Al Qaeda - US elections - Kerry's foolish claim. Just stringing together a bunch of stuff in the news and gluing them together with wishful thinking.
