It's been a few weeks now, and the pasture and fields are already so green. And, yes, lusher and fresher. Take out the part about the barn and it was a wonderful burn. lol. The woods look so happy. I've been getting to rock piles and collecting that I either couldn't see, or couldn't get to unless I sacrificed life and limb in the briars and scrub trees.

As to the starting of it. sigh. my dad did a brush pile on a Sunday that got out of hand. The depts came and we had it "put out". But there must have been something left smoldering that took off again after dark. I walked the lines before dark, but I shouldn't have slept. Dad was devasted and embarrassed. I'm just so glad no one else's place was touched, both for them and him. He really loved that barn, and he and Swayne built it. I think it was partly a reminder of the beginnings of his time on this land after retirement, and of the strength and stamina he had to do such a thing in his 60's. It really was gorgeous.

now that next night, I didn't sleep. lol. And our neighbor in our local dept. came over and walked all the lines with my after dark. And he came back the next day and did it again. Lessons learned.
