tippet I did not miss your point, that does not mean that ALL methane hydrate deposits are of commercial value the same as not all crude oil deposits are for commercial value.

It seems to me that those deposits abundant in the permafrost areas can be exploited safely and economically similar to crude oil deposits in similar areas.

The open sea floor deposits are more trickier and therefore there is a need for much more R&D to extract and capture the methane below the water surface economically and send it by pipe line to the consumer similar to NG
