They refused our security offers. The UN's own probe into the bombing says so and blames the UN's security management system. Yet you know it was the US's fault. We should have forced our security on them against their will.

And of course, if we had done that you'd be dissing the US for that too.

Tell me, is the US always in the wrong IYO or only in the wrong when it has a Republican President?

The probe confirms allegations made by U.S. officials that the UN in Baghdad refused protection from the American-led coalition. The UN wanted to distance itself from the occupation and UN officials asked the U.S. military to remove its military equipment and positions from the area surrounding the hotel where the UN had its headquarters.
The report says the security system should be overhauled before more UN workers go into Iraq. UN officials say the panel's findings will be studied closely and that steps to improve security will be taken.
