Actually, Intifada II and the trend towards suicide bombing occurred under Barak, when the PLA was closest to getting what it wanted. Clinton forced Barak to bend over backward, but the final status of Jerusalem was left to negotiate. The next thing you know, the West Bank broke out in riots to try to force concessions. That is why the Israeli electorate went from a liberal to a moderate to a hard- liner as premier, the sense that the Palestinian took all concessions as a sign of weakness, and went for the jugular. Blame the PLA for the "cycle of violence".

GST, Israeli security stopped 6 attempted suicide bombings in the last two weeks. Six. Can you imagine the destruction if they had not been stopped? That doesn't even count the attempt to blow up an unwitting 11 year old at a checkpoint.

This goes on all the time. Israeli behavior does not occur in a vacuum, yet you always speak as if it did, as if pulling back & being nice and polite was a viable option and would get reciprocally polite behavior from Hamas.
