A Great Blue Heron gets a lot of my fish. I bought a thing with an electric eye that will squirt him with the hose if he tries to get them this year.

We used to get a muskrat come to our place from the City Lake a couple of blocks away. Used to ransack garbage all around the area, and clean out neighbors backyard fish pond. He stopped that when I spotted him early one Sunday morning and let the Fox Terrier out to teach the rat some manners. Apparently the dog's methods were too intense; the rat died from a wound to the throat (asphyxiation?). Never saw such a proud dog. The muskrat was almost the size of the dog and the fangs were at least 2" long.
