Thank God for people of principle like Clarke. It doesn't bother you AT ALL that the SOB lied through his teeth? You can't get away from it -- he either lied in the book or on August 2 '02. Given he is pumping a book now, one can only sensibly conclude he is lying now.

But they will keep digging to find something to nail Clarke. That's what Frist is doing. Right now, I think they are trying to cut their losses; it dawned on them they look like idiots. Every comment digs a deeper hole. Its ironic that for three years these people were teflon; nothing stuck to them. Now in an election year, it seems like le merde hits the fan wherever they turn. Clearly, some of it is political and programmed like Clarke but some of it isn't at all. Thank God for people of principle like Clarke. Yes. We are fortunate that some people still believe in our democratic principles. That's what makes us different from so many other countries, and not that we are necessarily better people or God shines fondly on us. ted
